The Culture Xplorers (CX) Foundation would like to acknowledge Estilo Latin Dance Studio in Philadelphia, PA for their generous contribution to the Cucuya School, a small school located in a very poor area in the rocky hills outside of Lima, Peru.

CX Foundation trip leader Daniel Salazar has been involved with this school for years and helps on many levels, including funding for lunch programs, garden boxes and highly valued creative programs for the children. When CX Foundation director Sherry Berger and Daniel met in Spring 2012, they joined forces. Sherry’s personal involvement as manager of Estilo Latin Dance Studio led to the connection of the two Latino communities.

Recognizing the positive difference the arts make in children’s lives, Estilo Dance Studio and their students provide financial assistance to help fund an art program for the children.Through their contribution, 65 children were provided art supplies. The arts program is taught by Lugo, a young aspiring artist living in the community. Lugo is also recipient of the Culture Xplorers Foundation Arts Scholarship fund.

Estilo Dance Studio has provided many generous contributions, both in their local area and around the world. It’s nice to see a local business recognizing the importance of giving back.

How can you help? If you live in or near Philadelphia, each month Estilo Dance Studio hosts a “DANCE FOR A CAUSE” event. So take a dance lesson, try some moves on the dance floor, relax, have a drink, and know that a portion of the proceeds will help fund the school.Visit Estilo Dance Studio website >
